New Year Resolution #1 & #2

Im one of those person that if something doesn't pan out the first time around, I just keep at it till I get to my goal. So every year my 1st resolution is always.....drumroll please....to lose weight. Ah yes the ever increasingly difficult task of getting back my tight abs. I never want to get model skinny cause lets face it, living without food isn't living at all in my opinion. And secondly, people who don't eat are, well, kinda bitchy no? I know I am.

So to get on that I have enlisted the help of my very talented mother, nutritionist, life coach and all round kick-ass human, Angele Castonguay. She has got me on her all natural, no GMO, weight-loss kit from Shaklee. I am really enjoying my morning shakes, the energy tea has changed my life, and I haven't been starving and wanting to bite everyones head off, so thats a good start. We also have been working on getting to the root of my struggles with my weight and eating habits, which has been slightly uncomfortable emotionally but extremely beneficial.

I realize it takes more than that to achieve this goal so I have been doing small group, circuit training at InFOCUS Wellness group. I have been working out at the gym since I am 11 yrs old, therefore going to the gym is like punching myself in the face, so this setting totally works for me! We do drill style, small spurts of activity and the one hour class is over before I know it, perfect! They also cater the work outs to my specific goals and physical limitations due to my car accident. I will keep you posted on my progress.

My 2nd resolution is to take better care of my skin and face. I spend all this money on clothes every season but what about my face? I only get one! Being the translucent whitey white that I am, I have to be extra careful with my delicate skin. So for that I visited Dr Morrell for a skin evaluation and some new skin potions from his physician directed line of Di Morrelli products.

So after a thorough evaluation of my facial skin issues (oy vey!) I made an appointment for a Photofacial to help with my freckles (aka skin damage) and left with a Vitamin C Serum and a Skin Brightening Serum in hand.

Another thing I have been very curious about for some time is this Latisse product. Not only for my lashes but for my eyebrows that unfortunately have little bald spots due to over plucking in the 90's, thanks Pamela Anderson! You know the product that make your eyelashes grow thicker, longer and darker? It was originally formulated to treat glaucoma and manage ocular pressure but turned out that the side effect was eyelash growth! There are many products out there that claim to have this effect but Latisse is the only one that is FDA approved and prescribed by a physician. So I call up my good friend and neuro-opthamologist Dr Briar Sexton. I started on the Latisse programme a week ago and have already started seeing results!

I realize these resolutions are purely vanity driven, but I don't believe in self improvement resolutions, because I believe them to be a life long daily goal.

Wednesday | What I Wore

So with the new year in full swing and resolutions already broken, I am stuck with a big decision. What the heck am I gonna do with all my True Religion jeans!!!???

If you haven't owned a pair of  TR then you don't know what you missed, but for those who own a pair or own pairs, aren't they just form fitting and flattering? And aren't you also asking yourself what to do with them? Every time I go to put them on, something feels wrong. But I own like 8 of them! Suggestions?

Ski Thexy

If you didn't get the title, think Daffy Duck....

Anywho, I am on my way to the Whistler winter wonderland to attempt to learn to ski for the 5th time. So far my favourite part is...the apres ski. The post torture, body numbing booze fest. I am really giving it a good go but I have to admit it has been slightly difficult to enjoy the mild discomfort of....pretty much everything to do with skiing.

My second favourite part of skiing...looking thuper thexy on the slopes! Here are pics of how I wished I looked when partaking of this winter activity.

Friday | Fashion Face-off #5

Because of my excellent work styling the hubz and perhaps a wee bit of nagging, I have not had much to complain about in the fashion department.  He has been rocking some pretty sweet outfits without any of my assistance! It's only taken 5 years and 10 000+ comments but I feel I have accomplished my goals: complete wardrobe overhaul and style implementation.

Because his job has taken him outta town for a couple months this year,  I noticed a bit of a regression and I sensed their has been some laziness in the day fashion sector:

Like, what is that? Really? Whats with the Bandana? And the shirt he supposedly bought for a halloween costume 3 yrs ago:

So on this day of his birth, I will let him wear what ever his little heart desires and I wanted to compile some of my favourite times with the ol' man.

The beginning
First trip & red carpet
First halloween
First shoot
First dream come true, lol
First Eco Fashion Week event
First win

First public spanking

Trend Tuesdays | The Peplum...

A super cute trend I have been spotting all over has been the ever so cute Peplum skirt, dress, and suit. I am the kinda gal that thoroughly enjoys the edgy, strong, androgynous kinda fashion, but darn it, I am a girly girl at heart! There, I admit it! I love frills, lace, butterflies, flowers patterns and yes....even the colour pink! Here are a few of my top looks for this trend. There are quite a few my friends!
