Im one of those person that if something doesn't pan out the first time around, I just keep at it till I get to my goal. So every year my 1st resolution is always.....drumroll please....to lose weight. Ah yes the ever increasingly difficult task of getting back my tight abs. I never want to get model skinny cause lets face it, living without food isn't living at all in my opinion. And secondly, people who don't eat are, well, kinda bitchy no? I know I am.
So to get on that I have enlisted the help of my very talented mother, nutritionist, life coach and all round kick-ass human, Angele Castonguay. She has got me on her all natural, no GMO, weight-loss kit from Shaklee. I am really enjoying my morning shakes, the energy tea has changed my life, and I haven't been starving and wanting to bite everyones head off, so thats a good start. We also have been working on getting to the root of my struggles with my weight and eating habits, which has been slightly uncomfortable emotionally but extremely beneficial.
I realize it takes more than that to achieve this goal so I have been doing small group, circuit training at InFOCUS Wellness group. I have been working out at the gym since I am 11 yrs old, therefore going to the gym is like punching myself in the face, so this setting totally works for me! We do drill style, small spurts of activity and the one hour class is over before I know it, perfect! They also cater the work outs to my specific goals and physical limitations due to my car accident. I will keep you posted on my progress.
My 2nd resolution is to take better care of my skin and face. I spend all this money on clothes every season but what about my face? I only get one! Being the translucent whitey white that I am, I have to be extra careful with my delicate skin. So for that I visited Dr Morrell for a skin evaluation and some new skin potions from his physician directed line of Di Morrelli products.
So after a thorough evaluation of my facial skin issues (oy vey!) I made an appointment for a Photofacial to help with my freckles (aka skin damage) and left with a Vitamin C Serum and a Skin Brightening Serum in hand.
Another thing I have been very curious about for some time is this Latisse product. Not only for my lashes but for my eyebrows that unfortunately have little bald spots due to over plucking in the 90's, thanks Pamela Anderson! You know the product that make your eyelashes grow thicker, longer and darker? It was originally formulated to treat glaucoma and manage ocular pressure but turned out that the side effect was eyelash growth! There are many products out there that claim to have this effect but Latisse is the only one that is FDA approved and prescribed by a physician. So I call up my good friend and neuro-opthamologist Dr Briar Sexton. I started on the Latisse programme a week ago and have already started seeing results!
I realize these resolutions are purely vanity driven, but I don't believe in self improvement resolutions, because I believe them to be a life long daily goal.
