Leo Awards Gift Bag Goodness

I have said it before and I will say it again...one of the perks of blogging is the free stuff! There are certain events I look forward to, secretly in part to, the  gift bags. The Leo awards was truly an exciting evening to be a part of, and I feel like I am still reaping the benefits of that event.

Here are a list of my favourite products I got gifted:

Ok, LOVED this line of eco-beauty products called Sappho Organics! They have essential oils in it, so when you apply it on your face you get the relaxation benefits of Lavender. The palette included all the colours I actually already wear so that was convenient. I sometimes shy away from all natural eye shadows because they are not pigmented enough and don't blend properly, but this was not the case for these Sappho Shadows.

"What is beautiful is good, and what is good, will soon be beautiful" Sappho, Poet

I quite enjoyed that quote on their home page and I totally dog their slogan:

"Make Up Fearlessly" YES!

This natural line of hair care called Robert Max was a surprising favourite as I go through hairspray like its nobodies business, and I always have a tinge on guilt spraying all that aerosol into our atmosphere. Actually a lot of guilt, but I tell myself "I do so many other eco-friendly things, it has to make up for this beauty sin?" right?

Well, this spray was...a great day spray. Although I will still use the big guns on weekends, I can feel good using this light hold, natural variety on a daily basis.

And congrats to the team for formulating this product!

I am a bit of a product junky so this was an obvious top choice. This Sa Avani line of skin care was very impressive to me, as its formulas come from the Ayurvedic principles of skin care which date back thousands of years. Ayurveda means "Science of Life" and these products are designed to heal your skin ailments with a holistic approach. They are also completely free of parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances & colours, and sulfates! Many products say "Natural" but still contain many of these skin enemies.

Although I haven't begun to use these products I am looking forwards to testing out their benefits!

This company immediately drew my attention with its super cute branding! Smell This Aromatherapy  has cool retro packaging with an all natural, wholesome, full product line. From candles, to skin care, to ointments, so the "OMG smells sooo good" vanilla roll on perfume, this line was utterly yummy. I literally wanted to eat myself after applying all the creams and oils.

I like the fact they are local too.

What I am going to purchase next is the "ouch my Head" aromatherapy roll on for headaches. Lord know my late nights working on my computer takes its toll.

I have used this product a few time when my skin has looked dull and a few drops of this concentrated Argan & Frankincense serum made my skin smile! The Helena Lane product line is also all natural and organic, which for things I'm putting on my face, is a major bonus in my book.

This one needs no explanation...like money you are forced to go shopping with. And since I do most of my shopping online, it was kinda nice to go in a retail location, even tough $50 doesn't get you very far at BCBG, I still got a great little sweater.

I have been on this olive oil binge lately, so this product has come in very handy. So when my fridge and cupboards get a little bare, I start getting very creative with snacks. So my snack du jour have been toasted bread dipped in balsamic vinegar and this organic, extra-virgin olive oil from Maison Orphee. Mmmmmm...so good, and I have to say, this Peppery Spain olive oil was delish!

They have a range of cooking oils, condiments, and Gourmet Spritz which I really wanted to try....but alas I was only allowed one item.

I kinda liked that their website included a whole bunch of yummy recipes.

And last but not least, my breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner replacement;  Vega Smoothy mix. Since summer is...well...almost here, I like to watch my weight by replacing some meals with healthy smoothies. I like to put a bunch of spinach, a banana, some frozen fruit and a scoop of this stuff. It gives me energy and totally keeps me full.

I recently got some headshots done and used my Sappho Cosmetics. I thought the makeup turned out great!

I usually pile on the heavy duty stuff for pictures (that's right, I don't look like this when I roll outta bed) but since using the Sappho line, I trusted it would work great for the shoot.

I had the pleasure of showing up to the studio for my shoot and to my surprise it was a familiar face! I have met Gordan Dumka  several time in Vancouver and most memorably at Section 3 restaurant where we spoke about his amazing nude image in the entrance. Anyone who has frequented Section 3 knows that picture, it is Gorge!!!

So not only was he a pleasure to work with,

I was blown away by his camera skills! Oh and I got to wear this sweet Ocean Drive leather Jacket which didn't quite fit the tatas, but looked cool with my new hair colour.
